Why do rates vary by age in the Netherlands?

In the Netherlands, the so-called. age. This means that the statutory minimum wage depends on the age of the employee. The younger the person, the lower the legal minimum wage.

For example:

  • a person 21+ has the full minimum wage,
  • 18-20 year olds have a percentage of this rate,
  • Even younger workers have correspondingly lower rates.

This system applies throughout the country.

How do we do this at Efficient at Work?

At Efficient at Work we don't use the lid in practice.
We do not reduce rates on the basis of age.

If someone is working in the same position and doing the same job, receives the same hourly rate, whether he is 19, 25 or 40 years old.

We focus on:

  • equal pay for the same work,
  • clear rules,
  • Transparent payouts and specific rates from the start.

This ensures that our employees know exactly how much they will earn and under what conditions they are working.
